•  It’s that time of year….Our closing ceremonies for Sunday school and a service of celebration for graduates (high school, college, university, etc).  If your son or daughter is graduating or you know of someone that you’d like to see in the insert please have their photo/bio submitted to Tracey by the follow dates:

                   Wellington Service on Jun 10^th – deadline for submitting info Jun 1st  (Note: this is the day we also find out who our secret pal is!!)

                   St. John’s Service on Jun 17^th – deadline for submitting info Jun 8^th (Note: the youth group is organizing a BBQ after this service)

•  Reminder PLEASE PICK UP YOUR DISHES – There are still dishes hanging around SJUC, if you don’t pick up your dish it will be donated to Beacon House.

•  Special Celebration services for Janice is Sally will take place on May 27^th.

                      Sally Budge – during the WUC service there will be a gift presentation along with cake for all

                     Janice Frame – during the SJUC service there will be celebration.  After the service the congregation may gather in the BFH to enjoy a tasty treat. (Those with last names A-M are asked to bring Sandwiches / N-Z bring Sweets)

•  UCW are collecting Milk Bags to make Mats for people of Haiti.  (If you purchase your milk by the bags please save the “outer” bag and drop them off to Tracey in the office)

• Congratulations to Anne Hoganson who just completed her 1^st year at AST.  She also received the W.G. Watson prize for Excellence in Old Testament Studies!!

• At Wellington our Secret Pals  have been receiving wonderful gifts.  This is a reminder to keep up the creativeness, only two more month before the reveal.

• No Sunday School at WUC/SJUC over the long weekend (May 20^th).

• “Whew! They did it!” Sally and Janice received their Masters of Divinity degrees from AST. The next step is ordination on June 3^rd! In July, Sally will begin a 2-year Intentional Interim appointment at Forest Hills United, and Janice a 1-year Presbytery appointment at Lawrencetown Lake Echo Pastoral Charge.  Janice and Sally would like to say THANKS to everyone who encouraged, supported, challenged, and cajoled them along the way.”

• Plant Sale (Ubuntu Grannies) to be held on Sat May 19^th from 10am to 1pm at SJUC.  There will be several varieties of lilies available at $5 per plant.

• A service of celebration for all graduates (high school, college, university, etc) will be held on Sun, Jun 17^th – 11am at SJUC.  If your son or daughter is graduating or you know of someone that you’d like to see in the insert please submit their picture and a bio to Tracey in the office no later than Jun 8^th.

• Join the Woodlawn Youth Group in a Mini Rendez-vous - Six youth and one adult from Woodlawn went to Rendez-vous last year. We also applied and received a learning grant . We decided to use the money by putting on a local mini-rendezvous event. This youth retreat will have THE MESSAGE (Youth Forum band) play and also a fabulous guest speaker, Peter Davison. Most of the cost is covered by our grant so the cost is only $20 per youth. Leaders are also welcome to come with their youth! Attached you will find a poster explaning the event as well as a registration form. Please get this information forwarded to youth group leaders and youth in your church! • The Ubuntu African Grannies of Fall River are, once again, holding two fundraising events: A Yoga session, on Saturday, May 12, 2012, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at SJUC. Cost…..free will offering. And a Plant Sale, to be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, at SJUC. There will be several varieties of lilies available at $5.00 per plant.  All proceeds will go directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports African Grandmothers raise orphan children.

The Coastal Chorus presents their debut concert on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 13 at 2 P.M. at 2615 Northwood Terrace in Halifax.

Tickets are $10. Directed and accompanied by Paul Simons the concert features a special guest – guitarist Georges Hebert. If you are looking for somewhere to take your mum, or if you are thinking of joining a new singing group, come and check out our brand of pop, folk and swing music. At Kidston, with our creative staff, we make use of many articles in our programs. If any of the above you have in excess in your basement, Kidston would be appreciative for the donation. If you have a Kidston Board member in your congregation, please make arrangements with them, or call Angela Falkenham 835-2453 or ange@ns.symaptico.ca for pick up.

Please save these items: children’s clothing, toys, household items, knickknacks, small furniture and appliances, tools, jewelry and antiques. No adult clothing or large electronics.
