Old man winter actually cooperated on February 18th when WiseCafe held its first Soup Day at St. John’s United Church. When Heather tested the waters with this program idea (thanks to Sheila Keizer), she received a very positive response of 20 names. Due to road conditions, health, etc., not all were able to attend but 12 women from the Fall River community who did attend spent a wonderful morning together sharing lots of stories, laughter and enticing aromas. Many women told Heather to let them know when the next Soup Day would take place. So there you have it, a good day was had by all with gratitude for the Community Development grant through Cobequid Health which significantly funds the WiseCafe program.
We said goodbye to 2014 and welcomed in 2015 with worship, good food, great fellowship and some bubbly (i.e. Perrier Water). An evening enjoyed by seniors on New Year's Eve, co-ordinated by Heather Kellerman, facilitator of Wise Cafe. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend our monthly Wise Cafe workshops. Check out the event calendar on our website for more up-coming events. (Workshops look at your health and wellness.)
