We are so excited that in-person worship returns to St. John’s United on Sunday Sept 6th at 11 am! This will be a joint service with Wellington United Church.

Things will look a little different than past worship services. Please wear a mask and maintain the recommended 6ft distance as you enter the building. When you enter, you will be asked to sign in and sanitize your hands. Please do not linger in the narthex. Instead, move into the sanctuary and choose a seat in a pew that is “x”-free and ensure that there is 2 m distance between the people in your bubble and the next person. This week children and youth will remain with their families for worship. Take-home activity packs will be provided for young children.

A recording of this worship service will be posted online for those who are unable to join us in person at this time.

Please note: If you have traveled outside the Atlantic Bubble in the last 14 days, or if you have any of the following symptoms, please stay home: cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.

Jesus taught that love of God and love of neighbour are two inseparable aspects of one great commandment for the people of God (Matt 22:35-40.) Love motivates everything we do as disciples of Jesus, including how we worship and our fellowship with one another. Our in-person worship plan has been thoughtfully considered consulting the current Public Health materials and United Church of Canada guidelines. We understand each of these measures as opportunities to express our love for neighbour, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness. We want to make sure that we bring no harm to anyone when we gather.

We look forward to welcoming you whenever you are ready to return to in-person worship!
