SJUC Planting / Tending Day, OCTOBER 26th 11am-2pm: You are invited to remain following a shortened Sunday worship service and join us for a 2nd Planting Day experience.  Many of you were present in May for the 1st experience and now we will take and use all the comments, suggestion, visions, hopes, questions re faithful mission/ministry at St. John’s – all of which we raised at the first event last spring.  How might we expand our ‘presence’ in the community? How might we enhance our various ministries/programs all in an accepting, inclusive manner? How is the Spirit directing our path? Where is our energy/interests these days for the Congregation? Come and be with us.  Lunch (thanks to many of you!) is provided and we begin in the Blair Hall.

(Those surnames A-M please provide Sandwiches / N-Z please provide Sweets —  remember PEANUT FREE please)

Gifts with Vision: The United Church of Canada provides Mission and Service support to partners all year long for their vital work in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and right here in Canada.  With Gifts with Vision, you give a gift in honour of friends or family to support specific partner activities such as creating healthy places to live, promote justice, provide social service and enliven worship.  If you are interested in Gifts with Vision please take a catalogue for more details.  Catalogues are on the table as you enter the sanctuary.

Operation Christmas Child a project of Samaritan’s Purse, opens the door for children, their families and communities to receive assistance.  If you’d like to participate this year and fill a shoebox with gifts for a child please pick up a pamphlet in the narthex for more details on how to get started.
